John McCain: War Criminal
I tire of hearing the myth: John McCain the "war hero." McCain is no hero, he merely "survived", and did so by giving military information to the North Vietnamese in exchange for preferential treatment. This has been testified to by other POW's who were incarcerated at the same time as McCain. Several have stated they don't think McCain endured any torture, he was actually treated well. McCain also recorded propaganda speeches criticizing the United States and the war. Some of those recordings still survive. McCain trots out his POW/HERO story in every speech he makes, as do his supporters. He has milked the story for nearly three decades to win sympathy and political support. Well, I'm sorry, but selling out to the enemy for softer treatment does not make him a hero. What it makes him is a coward, a traitor, and a war criminal. How many of our soldiers died as a direct result of McCain's treachery? Does he ever think about that? Does he have a conscience? McCain and John Kerry quashed Senate investigations into whether or not there were any POW/MIA's left behind. John McCain insisted over and over, despite evidence to the contrary, that everyone had been rescued. Why wouldn't he want to find out for sure? That's all that the POW/MIA families wanted: to find out for sure, to keep the investigations open for awhile longer. McCain and Kerry kept that from happening. McCain also pushed through legislation making all POW de-briefings classified and only accessible by the Pentagon. POW's and MIA families have no recourse to get that information. Could some of those files have information about MIA's and their whereabouts? John McCain has made sure we will never know. Thousands of pages of documents that should have been declassified many years ago have been legislated into secrecy. Documents that HAVE been declassified remain a mystery for the most part, because McCain's legislation set up mazes within mazes, behind walls within mazes that make it next to impossible to track down anything. Webster's New World Dictionary defines a hero as: "a person of great strength and courage", and "a central figure who played an admirable role in any important event". If McCain is really a "hero", he has made sure that we only have his word for it.
